Painting and Drawing
Louise Laing’s paintings are either figurative works that sometimes move into abstraction, or abstract explorations of colour and texture. Colour field paintings encourage the viewer to respond as they wish.
The drawings are responses to people and nature.
The head drawings convey how a person’s expression reflects inner life. In the drawings from nature and daily life, colour, form and texture are attempts to discover the essence of the subject.
